1. Create new packaging that would serve as both the shipping container and the display package. It also needed to be a cost-effective one-color design.
2. Create a display stand (POP) that would fit in independent bike shops, be able to hold two of the large, heavy product packages, break down flat and be under 48″ for shipping.
For the packaging we used a bold, strong design that was different on each of the main sides. For the POP, we designed and produced a direct-print plywood display stand with die-cut aluminum panels that was only 47″ high, but was able to hold an interchangeable poster that extended its height another two feet.
The packaging visually jumps off delivery palettes and is sharp, clean and attention getting on showroom floors. The displays helped drive an independent bike shop sales program and the entire first run of displays were sold out within a week of being produced, forcing us into a second run. (Not a bad problem)
