Challenge

Teens Linked to Care (TLC) was a CDC Foundation program focused on implementing strategies to help community health concerns including prevention of substance use, sexually transmitted infections and depression among youth, ages 13-19, that were living in rural communities. When the pilot was created, the client needed a new brand identity and brand collateral to launch the program.

Approach

Our team created the branding for the program, which included a logo and strong tagline that resonated with all stakeholders – from health educators to a youth advisory board to donors. The visual identity and creative executions for the program included a logo mark, typography treatment and color palette followed by identity system and promotional materials to bring the program to life. As part of the process, our team also developed a style guide that directed individuals, groups and partner organizations on how to correctly use the TLC brand identity.

Results

The brand identity was well received by health educators and the youths that were facilitating and leading portions of the program. The program was a success and continued for seven years, proactively providing support and resources to reduce substance use and transmission risks for teens.

To further show the impact of the program, our team created documentary style videos that highlighted the important work that Teens Liked to Care was providing to communities.
