Overview
AmeriCorps launched Public Health AmeriCorps to address community health needs while strengthening the public health workforce. As future funding depended on demonstrating impact, the organization needed a compelling way to showcase results, elevate voices, and build broader awareness. Seed Factory was selected to develop a series of video and written stories capturing program success across communities, translating complex public health work into clear, human-centered narratives for general audiences and key stakeholders including public health leaders, funders, and partners.
Approach
Our team partnered with AmeriCorps to identify and develop stories across diverse local programs nationwide. Five locations were selected based on their ability to illustrate meaningful outcomes, compelling narratives, and the broader impact of community-based health initiatives.
We led story development, scripting, and production: ensuring each asset balanced storytelling with clarity. Topics ranged from substance use recovery and aging populations to youth empowerment and food insecurity, requiring a thoughtful, adaptable approach across communities.
Given the sensitivity and complexity of the work, our team guided all stakeholders through the process, ensuring community voices led while maintaining consistent messaging.
Production
Working on an accelerated timeline, we deployed a nimble, integrated team to capture stories in multiple locations.
Filming focused on real-world environments, documenting members in action. Each shoot combined interviews with supporting visuals that grounded the stories in place and context, maintaining authenticity and visual consistency.
From the outset, production was designed as a multi-content capture effort, maximizing efficiency while generating video, photography and written assets from locations as diverse as rural Wisconsin to a small town in Puerto Rico.

Impact
Seed Factory produced multiple assets, including 20+ long and short-form videos, social edits, and 10+ written case studies that collectively showcased the impact of the Public Health AmeriCorps program.
Each story was developed within a multi-format content approach, enabling use across digital platforms, social media, and stakeholder communications. For select locations, content was also adapted into multiple languages to increase accessibility and reach.
The featured programs included:
• Substance use disorder support (Wisconsin)
• Care for aging populations (Puerto Rico)
• Youth empowerment initiatives (Puerto Rico)
• Health equity and access programs (Virginia)
• Food insecurity efforts (North Carolina)
These stories scaled from regional to national, increasing visibility, strengthening engagement, and supporting funding outcomes. Following the campaign, AmeriCorps secured additional funding to expand and sustain the following year.
